Belt and Road Scholarship (Thailand)

KWI Public Company Limited committed to social responsibility to help and develop Thai society sustainably — particularly in offering opportunities and maximize the youth potential. The Hong Kong Scholarship Program for “Belt and Road” Students (Thailand), set up by a donation from Dr. King Wai Chan, Founder and Chairman of KWI Public Company Limited and Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce, have been successfully implemented since 2017. The total fund will be approximately 86 million THB.

Under the program, a scholarship of up to 7.3 million THB will be offered annually to ten outstanding (Thai) students (per year). The scholarship includes tuition fee and bursary. Students would enroll in undergraduate program of publicly-funded and local degree- awarding institutions in Hong Kong for four academic years. Now, more than twenty outstanding students of Thailand are pursuing undergraduate studies at different universities in Hong Kong. The universities include The University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University and City University of Hong Kong.

Eligibility

Thai nationality
Apply to study at a publicly-funded and local degree-awarding institutions in Hong Kong.
The eligibility may vary according to the applicants’ university of choice.

Admission and Selection

Interested Students should submit applications for admission to the publicly-funded and local degree-awarding institutions directly.
Participating institutions will consider the following qualities when selecting awardees :

Excellence performance in academic studies
Recognized contribution to the institution/society
Demonstrated leadership and good communication skill
Strong interest in integrating into and contributing to the Hong Kong society

Applicants may wish to approach the participating institutions direct regarding application and selection procedures
