In April 2016,in order to implement the initiatives to promote “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” as set out in the 13th Five-year Plan of China, Dr. King Wai Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong King Wai Group, and KWI PCL donated 1 billion Baht to set up the Bauhinia Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center, an innovative platform to facilitate young people from. Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese to better understand the business culture in the Chinese societies. and carry out innovation cooperation in mainland China. The opportunity opens for. university students, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to understand China’s business sphere. The center will enhance their sense of integration and belonging, giving them the opportunity to use their competitive advantages, and supporting them in the development of their business in mainland China.
Bauhinia Valley Training Program - The center incorporates 12 of the most prestigious universities in China. Each collaborating university will operate multiple in-campus training programs with 2 weeks to three months courses each time. The programs contribute to businesses’ understanding, skills, and networks through innovation and entrepreneurship. The initial term of the cooperation scheme runs for five years. Dr. Chan’s donation will cover accommodation and tuition fees for all enrolled trainees. The centers will be dedicated totraining entrepreneurs of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises mostly Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, oversea Chinese, and returnees from overseas universities who want to start their own business on the mainland.
